Whether you're celebrating something special or just in the mood for a winter warm-up, The Editor   is just what the doctor ordered. Thoughtfully crafted by Bellefonte Bold and Megan Marcaurelle-Jones of The Republic , this  inspired twist on a whiskey sour will be your drink of choice for the season, and likely even longer.

Try the recipe and you won't be disappointed, or stop into The Republic  for our signature cocktail.

YOU WILL NEED

  • Bar Shaker

  • Cocktail Strainer

  • 1-2 oz Jigger

  • Channel Knife

THE EDITOR

  • Bourbon

  • Fresh Lemon Juice

  • Sage-Infused Simple Syrup

  • Pasturized Egg White

  • Lemon Peel

  • Nutmeg

  • A Lemon

  1. Measure 2 oz. of a bourbon of your choice and 1 oz. of freshly-squeezed lemon juice. Pour it into your bar shaker.

  2. Measure 1 oz. of sage-infused simple syrup and 1.5 oz. of pasteurized eggwhite. Pour into your bar shaker. 

  3. Give it all a good shake. Add a scoop of ice to your shaker. Then shake it again!

  4. Put one, large ice cube into a rocks glass, then use the bar strainer to strain the drink over the cube. 

  5. Use the channel knife to cut a thin piece of the lemon peel. Add it delicately to the top of the glass. This will serve a dual purpose-- adding  flavor and acting as a garnish. 

  6. Lightly sprinkle nutmeg on top of your drink. Like the lemon peel, this will add flavor and act as a garnish. 

  7. ENJOY!
