The General Potter Farm is an all-season venue for the ultimate in rustic barn weddings and events. Located just outside of State College, PA, the General Potter Farm sits on 12 acres of woods, fields and streams in Penns Valley. The Barn blends rustic charm and modern elegance, to offer the essential elements of successful, effortless entertaining. Our commitment to simple pleasures, organic beauty, and warm professionalism makes this the perfect wedding or event venue.
Inside the renovated, 2-story bank barn, built in the 1830s, the Barn offers a rustic aesthetic with power, ambient lighting and all-season temperature control. The upstairs of this spacious barn has exposed beams, an open loft, original wide-plank floors and whitewashed walls. With its two-story vaulted ceiling, the Barn beautifully accommodates up to 200 guests for dinner and entertainment.
DOWNSTAIRS AT THE BARN
The downstairs of the Barn features meticulously repointed stone walls for a cozy “pub” atmosphere. Perfect for ceremonies or cocktail hour, the space opens to the barnyard for lawn games or outdoor entertaining.
THE CEREMONY MEADOW
Perfectly situated beside the “Potters Run” stream and pond, the ceremony meadow is an easy walk across the field and down a hill from the farmhouse and Barn. The meadow is surrounded by willows and wildflowers and is a lovely location for the perfect ceremony. The lawn is equipped with power.
OUTSIDE SPACES
A barnyard for lawn games, rustic outbuildings for photo backdrops, spacious lawns, fields and streams. Your General Potter Farm rental includes access to all 13 acres of lovely outside spaces.
THE FARMHOUSE
Newly renovated, the Farmhouse is just steps away from the Barn, making it the perfect spot for your bridal party, family and friends to stay for your wedding weekend. The original 3,800 square foot farmhouse offers 4 bedrooms with 3.5 baths, original wood flooring, 5 fireplaces and a large porch overlooking a beautiful stream.
YOUR HOME AWAY FROM HOME
A full kitchen, living room, dining room and piano room as well as a large, sunny porch overlooking the stream, provide plenty of room for friends and family to gather for an an intimate rehearsal dinner or a family brunch after your wedding. With 5 bedrooms and 3.5 baths, the house can comfortably accommodate 10+ guests overnight. Plenty of light and beautiful spaces make it the perfect spot for bridal parties to get ready.
